Words of wisdom
You call it a community, what do you mean by that?
I refer to the fetish or bdsm community, as a community because that is what it is. We are a group of people, either online or in a local setting, who function as a community to help those who are looking for other like-minded people. The local community (may also hear some people call it the local scene) is generally a well formed group of people who get to know each other in more than just kinky ways. They function as a group of friends or a tightly knit neighborhood. When one needs something, they all do what they can to help.

FAQ
All questions covered here are ones that I have gotten from those who are either new to BDSM/fetish or who have been around a while, but are still learning terms. If you have a question that is not listed, send me a message through my contact box and I will be happy to answer it and also add it here.

Do you have to be a swinger or poly to be a part of it?
No you do not. Swingers MAY partake in some aspects of fetish activites, and are technically a specific fetish, but they can be completly normal "vanilla"people also. Polyamory and polygmy are only for certain people, just like monogamy is only for certain people. Not everyone is the same, and not everyone loves the same. The fetish lifestyle and community accepts all with open arms and, as a general peopluation, does not judge you for what you chose to do.

You say people do not judge in the fetish lifestyle?
Generally yes, people who are in the fetish lifestyle are more accepting of the fact that not everyone is the same. However, you will run into people who judge you based on whatever they can find to. These people are just judgemental and do not represent the majority. We all have it in our nature to judge others, some of us have just learned or chosen not to.

What makes you qualified to be writing these posts?
I have as much qualifications to be writing this blog as a mother has to teach her child. While I do not see you all as kids who need taught, you are still new to things and a voice of experience can be helpful. If you truly want to know more about what makes me able to write this, check out my About page or just ask me.

You appear to like sending us to Stockroom for books. Why?
While not all of the links to books go to Stockroom, most do as I feel they are a trusted site that can be a one stop shopping trip. If you are looking for books on rope bondage, you go to their site and buy the books as well as rope to start out with. This lets you be able to get any supplies you want/need at the same time.
Why not send us to Amazon? They have everything.
Yes they do have everything but unless it is specific things such as books or food direct from them or a manfacturer, and not from other sellers, you are getting a lower price by the sellers getting goods imported from Hong Kong and other countries. This might sound like it wouldn't be a problem but it can be a big one. Quality is not always consistent, materials are not always listed accurately, sex toys might have cheap motors or added chemicals, and all around you never know what you will get. I do not like sending anyone there for more than just books for this reason. If you would rather buy there, you can look items up easily yourself.
